Upgraded iThenticate Platform Simplifies Originality Assessment for Texas A&M Researchers
Modernized platform from the Division of Research offers new features to support originality checks for scholarly publishing.
BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas (June 30, 2026) – Texas A&M University research teams now have access to iThenticate 2.0, an upgraded version of the plagiarism detection platform used worldwide by researchers, publishers and funding agencies, the Division of Research announced today.
The 2.0 version provides expanded tools designed to help researchers more efficiently verify originality and collaborate across projects. New features include:
- Improved administrative tools that simplify account management
- A private repository for comprehensive internal and industry content comparisons
- Turnitin Core API integration
- Ongoing platform enhancements through continuous feature updates
Together, these capabilities help researchers verify attribution, strengthen manuscript quality and support publication readiness.
“Maintaining the highest standards of research integrity is essential to Texas A&M’s mission and reputation as a leading research university,” said Dr. Angela K. Wilson, vice president for research at Texas A&M University, VPR University Chair and professor of chemistry at Texas A&M’s College of Arts and Sciences. “Upgrading to iThenticate 2.0 provides our research community with enhanced tools to support originality, strengthen scholarly excellence and help ensure the quality and credibility of research produced across the university.”
The Division of Research provides iThenticate to Texas A&M researchers at no cost and encourages pre-submission checks of papers, proposals and other documents that will be published for the broader research community.
“iThenticate 2.0 provides tools that help simplify the internal review of research manuscripts before publication,” said Dr. Gerianne Alexander, associate vice president for research, research integrity officer and professor of psychological and brain sciences. “The platform’s upgraded capabilities allow researchers to easily identify unintentional text recycling or text reuse and submit their work with greater confidence.”
